With today's technology and our staff's gentle touch, our patients are very comfortable during treatment. Our office is equipped with the latest technology to help detect and treat dental problems.
As a new patient, you will receive a complete and thorough examination of your mouth, tissue, bone, teeth, jaw joints (TMJs) and facial muscles. Digital radiographs will be taken of your teeth and bone to aid the diagnosis of decay, pathology and periodontal disease. A full periodontal screening will be completed and appropriate measures initiated to make sure you are on your way to oral health. In some circumstances, you will be referred to a specialist to meet your treatment needs. Intra-oral pictures will be taken of your dental and gum conditions for your education. For example, you may be able to fully see the fracture causing your discomfort, failing restorations, tartar build-up and your gums response to the tartar. This will allow you to see inside your mouth, for many, this will be your first time visualizing your dental needs.
Digital radiographs reduce radiation by about 90% over standard film as the sensor is more sensitive than traditional film. In addition, digital radiographs also supply immediate images at our chair-side computer monitors. This means no more waiting for the X-rays to develop, no more hazardous chemicals down the drain after developing the radiographs, no more time constraints as additional x-rays are taken, developed and viewed if too dark/too light or missing an area needing to be seen. Digital radiographs also allow storability and ageless contrast, unlike traditional film that degrade and fade with time. Digital radiographs can be transmitted to insurance companies and other dental professional for either a consult or referral and can also be enhanced digitally by the computer to yield the most diagnostic image and clarity. We have had excellent patient acceptance with this amazing technology and know you will find it impressive, educational and respectful of your health and time. Treatment interruptions are a thing of the past with reliable digital radiography!
Our office utilizes interactive patient education videos, viewed on chair-side computer monitors, to assist our patients with understanding their oral conditions. These videos, in conjunction with knowledgeable staff, intra-oral pictures and digital radiography, aid the treatment plan discussion and help to answer questions that arise out of your detailed examination. We feel if you understand what is going on with your teeth, gums and bone, you can make an informed decision regarding the treatment recommendations.
It is important to note, a dentist does not need all the technology to do good dentistry, but it is a great adjunct to patient care and education. We think you will agree!
Homecare instructions will also be discussed to help you maintain your dental health at home.
A written treatment plan will be given to each patient that summarizes the treatment recommendations, number and length of each appointments), estimated third party contribution (if you have dental insurance) and also the estimated portion insurance will not cover and the amount due for treatment.
Our office will attempt to maximize your dental insurance benefits while recognizing ideal treatment sometimes is not covered under standard dental insurance coverage. Payment arrangements can be discussed with our office manager.

Certainly, financial considerations have played a role in the postponement or avoidance of necessary dental health care. There may be countless personal priorities that may intercept a patient's desire for a healthy mouth and a dazzling smile. Yet few of the alternatives to preventive dental care result in the enormous monetary penalties incurred by delaying needed treatment. Tooth decay that may be easily be managed by a conservative filling, after less than a year's neglect, may result in root canal therapy and a crown at a cost of twelve to fifteen fold.
